FOUR-YEAR OCCUPATIONS

AGRO-TOURIST TECHNICIAN - Combines the field of agriculture with the field of traditional hospitality and tourism – Agro-tourist technicians are employed in smaller catering facilities that have a catering and agricultural business in their scope of work and deal with food production.

They deal with the agricultural affairs of their farm, take care of the ecological approach in the cultivation of vegetables, fruit and livestock. Organize and take care of the production of quality food. They design presentations of national customs, cultural and historical heritage of a particular part of Croatia. Plan, procure and store foodstuffs. Create menus, organize food preparation. They cooperate with tourist boards and hospitality workers.

Eco-tourism is linked to ecological agriculture, and it is precisely this that has the potential to become the most promising form of tourism in the Republic of Croatia, because on the one hand it protects the natural and cultural heritage, and on the other hand it enables the realization of economic benefits.

FOOD TECHNICIAN - Implements and controls processes in the food industry, laboratories, crafts and food trade – Food technicians work in industrial production, laboratories, crafts and in food trade. They work independently in production facilities, warehouses, laboratories, stores, catering industry and food trade.

When performing tasks in production, they can also perform tasks involving special working conditions.

AGROTECHNICIAN - New vocational curriculum – Agrotechnicians organize activities and work on agricultural farms (family farms, trades, trading companies, cooperatives), in institutions (schools, institutes, agencies) in the field of production, finishing, processing and marketing of products of plant and animal origin (livestock, fishing and beekeeping).

They can perform tasks independently or as employees. Working hours are adjusted to technological processes and weather conditions.




THREE-YEAR OCCUPATIONS

BUTCHER – Prepares fresh and canned meat products. In addition to preparing fresh meat for sale, butchers also preserve meat using chemical means, freezing and smoking, make cooked and semi-permanent sausages and winter salami, various semi-permanent and permanent cured meat products and bacon.

Butchers can work in craft businesses and in industrial production. In craft businesses they participate in all stages of meat processing, while in industrial production they usually perform only certain operations. In craft shops and stores, butchers cut, weigh and sell fresh meat and cured meat products.

BAKER – Kneads and bakes bread and other bakery products. In their work, bakers use sieves, scales, bowls for mixing dough, baskets, baker's shovels, baking sheets, transport carts, etc. They handle machines and devices for mixing and shaping dough. They service and monitor the operation of all types of furnaces. On measuring instruments, they read and monitor the temperature and humidity of the working space and in the bakery oven.

Bread and pastries are made from flour of different grains: wheat, rye, corn, etc. They make sure that the reserve quantities of flour and other raw materials are properly stored. They pay special attention to personal hygiene and maintaining the cleanliness of work rooms, ovens and work tools.

AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY MECHANIC - Maintains and repairs tractors and agricultural machinery. During their education, students are trained to operate, assemble, maintain and repair agricultural machines and machinery equipment. They get acquainted with the basics of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, agricultural technology and mechanization, acquire basic knowledge about circuits and working principles of motor vehicles, internal combustion engines, engine and vehicle parts, and agricultural mechanization technology.

Agricultural machinery mechanics work on maintenance and repair of vehicles, machines, apparatus and devices for agriculture, forestry, gardening and construction. This job enables dynamic work in the workshop and in the field where machines are used. It can be successfully carried out through an independent entrepreneurial activity.

In doing so, they use various devices, including electronic and computer equipment. When they find a fault, they fixe it and check again whether the device is working properly and whether it is safe to use. Agricultural machinery mechanics who work in shops, provide information about machinery, how to use it and give purchase advice.

AGRICULTURAL ENTREPRENEUR (AGRIPRENEUR) – Agricultural entrepreneurs organize, supervise and coordinate crop and livestock production. They can be engaged in the production of plant crops on arable land (cereals, vegetables, industrial and fodder crops), in orchards and vineyards. In the branch of animal husbandry, they raise large and small livestock and poultry and work on the production of livestock and poultry products.

Agricultural entrepreneurs deal with crop and livestock production on farms and on private estates, and most often work outdoors.

In plant production, they grow vegetable, fruit, vineyard and field crops. Their work includes soil preparation for sowing and planting, modern fertilization and care of crops, pruning of fruit trees and vines, spraying and dusting against diseases and pests, harvesting, putting away, storage and processing. In their work, they apply modern and contemporary work tools, using the achievements of science and technology.

Agricultural entrepreneurs also work in different branches of animal husbandry: cattle breeding, pig breeding, sheep breeding, goat breeding, poultry breeding. They deal with animal breeding, reproduction, care, feeding, reproduction and fattening of various types and categories of livestock, in order to ensure quality production of milk, meat, eggs, wool, fur and young livestock.

ASSISTANT FLORIST – (TES) - The program is intended for students with disabilities. As part of the program, students acquire knowledge about watering, fertilizing and weeding plants. They can be engaged in the cultivation of plants in flower production such as replanting, pruning and decapitation.

ASSISTANT BAKER - (TES) - The program is intended for students with disabilities. The profession of assistant baker educates students to work in artisanal and industrial production of bakery products. The assistant baker performs the tasks of making dough, shaping and baking various types of bread and pastries.

FLORIST

Getting to know different types of flowers, learning about the symbolism of colors and shapes, mastering the skills of putting flowers in arrangements, bouquets, wreaths, garlands, working in a flower shop, participating in decoration and decorating interiors for various occasions.

Possibility of employment:

flower shops, tourist institutions, companies dealing in the wholesale of flowers and flower accessories

ORCHARDIST - VINEDRESSER - VINTNER  

Getting to know the conditions for growing fruit and vines, planting, care and protection of orchards and vineyards, getting to know the most important varieties, harvesting fruit and grapes.

Grape processing, production and care of wine and other grape products. Knowledge of machines and their use in fruit growing and viticulture.

Possibility of employment:

in fruit and vine nurseries, at fruit, vineyard and wine farms, in cold stores, lines for sorting, packaging and distribution of fruit and grapes, on lines for finishing and processing fruit and grapes, in wineries, on family farms.
